BroadFutures Summer 2027 Internship Program
Description
We serve neurodivergent young people who are highly motivated and actively seek internship opportunities to advance their professional futures. Our programs combine paid internships with comprehensive training and personalized mentoring, creating a supportive space where our participants can grow and access their potential.
Our tailored curriculum empowers participants to develop independence, confidence, and effective professional communication skills. It is intentionally designed to accommodate diverse learning needs through accessible forms of instruction and develop transferable skills for the workplace. We combine arts-based and peer-to-peer learning with stress reduction techniques. At the heart of our model is our evidence-based approach benefitting both interns and employers. Mentors and coaches help interns grow and develop professional skills, while also educating and supporting employers in creating inclusive and accessible workplaces.
Key Features:
- Interns aged 18-26 with high school diplomas or GEDs and college capable.
- In-person programming with biannual sessions (Jan-April and June-August)
- Internships are a minimum of 20 hours per week, Monday through Thursday
- Comprehensive one-week professional training before internships, followed by ongoing weekly Friday sessions
- Intern stipends equal to at least the DC minimum wage
- Participation fee with scholarships based on financial need
