Per Diem 11am-2pm (15 hours per week)| $16-$17/Hour| Paid Training

Crossroads Center for Children, located in the Princetown near Schenectady/Rotterdam/Duanesburg, NY area, is looking for Floating Lunch Coverage Special Education Teacher Assistants in our preschool and early Elementary aged program. We are looking for staff who are fun loving, life-long learners, committed, and determined to help students achieve their best. Crossroads serves students following principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). ABA is an empirically based therapy that is used to analyze the relationship between a child and their environment to improve socially significant behavior. We stress positively reinforcing appropriate behaviors and replacing challenging behaviors with functional communication.

Job Responsibilities Include:
Helping children work on individual goals such as academic, social, self-help and play skills.
Collect ABA focused data to promote skill acquisition and behavior change.
Providing therapy in various models (individual or group).
Redirecting and correcting aberrant behavior.

Requirements
Licenses & Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience in childcare (preferred)
Working with children with Autism (preferred)
New York State Certification as a Teacher Assistant is required within the first 6 months of employment (HR will show you how to obtain this certification)

Pay: $16 - $17 per hour
