Description

The Janitor independently cleans restrooms, offices, break rooms, locker rooms, kitchenettes/pantries, showers, stairwells, corridors, elevators/escalators, and other work areas.  Duties involve a combination of the following:  sweeping and mopping floors; removing trash and other materials for recycling; dusting furniture or fixtures; polishing metal fixtures or trimmings; replenishing restroom supplies.

  • Cleaning offices, corridors, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, elevators, escalators, break room, library, kitchenette, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
    Sweeping, floors using brooms, and mops.
    Cleaning rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies using a vacuum cleaner.
    Dusting furniture and equipment.
    Polishing metalwork such as fixtures and fittings.
    Washing walls, ceiling, and woodwork.
    Washing door panels and sills.
    Emptying wastebaskets.
    Transporting trash to disposal area and recycle to designated areas.
    Replenishing restroom supplies.
    Responsible for producing quality work.
    Responsible for appropriate conduct and demeanor as dictated by Didlake policy.
    Responsible for following safety standards and guidelines in the proper use of the equipment and other activities.
    Completes and maintains all Didlake required training.

Requirements

Education:

High School diploma/GED and 6 months previous custodial work experience.
Skills and Abilities:

Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Periodic reinvestigations will be required.
Ability to carry out simple but detailed instructions.
Ability to communicate with co-workers.
Must possess a positive team member attitude.
Ability to interact effectively with employees with disabilities.
Ability to work in environments with narrow, moving, and/or slippery surfaces.
Must successfully pass a drug test.
Access to the work site for this position may require a valid Real ID as of May 7th, 2025.
