JOB SUMMARY 

The Vice President of Technology provides strategic, operational, and transformational leadership for technology services across Relay Resources. A member of the executive team and reporting to the President and CEO, this role is responsible for defining and executing the enterprise technology vision, including infrastructure, applications, data, cybersecurity, the digital employee experience, and innovation. The VP of Technology leads a cross-functional team and collaborates with executive leadership to ensure technology solutions scale with organizational needs and deliver measurable business impact.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

Technology Strategy – 30%
Partner with other members of the executive team and other organizational leaders to align department and organization objectives.
Translate organizational objectives into technical solutions that scale.
Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to ensure technology meets existing and future requirements.
Establish strategic roadmap with objectives, goals, and governance.
Analyze, recommend, and evaluate new products to meet business needs and improve efficiency, performance, and security of existing applications and platforms.
Keep current with the latest technologies, industry standards, and trends.
Provide executive leadership for enterprise systems design and integration to ensure alignment, scalability, and maintainability.

Organizational Strategy – 20%
Partners with other members of the executive team on organization vision and strategy including a technology and continuous improvement perspective.
Establish relationships and maintain regular communications with stakeholders about pertinent operational activities and strategic initiatives.
Partner with leaders on organization initiatives.
Participate in strategic and operational planning, including fostering innovation, planning projects, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources.

Team & Stakeholder Management – 20%
Lead and coordinate team members ensuring they understand overarching organization and department objectives.
Supervise and mentor technical teams.
Manage staffing – including recruitment, supervision, and performance management.
Collaborate with SVP of Finance, IT, & Administration and the broader IT leadership team to set department goals, policies and processes.

Operational and Project Management – 15%
Act as an escalation point for complex systems issues and major project decisions.
Develop, implement, and administer policies and processes based on best practices for implementation, training, adoption and optimization of applications and platforms.
Supervise department and organization projects in order to ensure delivery and remove roadblocks.
Ensure risks are identified, mitigated and communicated to appropriate stakeholders.
Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive cybersecurity program.
Ensure cross-functional technology initiatives are effectively coordinated and executed in support of business goals.
Collaborate closely with the EPMO Director and ensure technology planning is incorporated into enterprise projects.

Budget Management – 10%
Lead the development of the Technology budget, in collaboration with the SVP of Finance, IT, & Administration and the broader IT leadership team.
Manage the costs of technology across the organization, ensuring the cost efficiency and value alignment of technology investments.
Collaborate with Directors and Manager on department budgets.
Conduct near-term and long-term financial forecasts based on expanding functionality and user growth.

Other duties as assigned – 5%

SCOPE & ACCOUNTABILITY 
Performs duties independently, with accountability to leadership and the organization as a whole.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY 
Ability to work with limited supervision and a high degree of independent decision making
Supervises IT Director, Application Manager, and other senior technology staff
Manages relationships with vendors/partners/consultants
Leads departmental planning, staff development, and organizational alignment

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS  At least 10 years of progressive experience leading technology teams At least 3 years in senior/executive leadership Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional technology teams through periods of significant organizational change Proven track record of leading enterprise technology initiatives in a complex organization Proficiency in managing cloud environments, including IaaS/PaaS Experience in IT governance, risk management, and vendor management Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or related discipline PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS  Masters in Business Administration or related discipline Project Management Certification Bilingual (Spanish, ASL, etc.) KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES  Ability to solve business problems with technology Excellent communication skills Ability to collaborate with executive leadership on organizational goals and champion technology’s role in achieving objectives Ability to communicate complex technical concepts and information to non-technical audiences Ability to define and execute a cohesive technology strategy across infrastructure, applications, and security Experience leading digital transformation in complex or mission-driven organizations Knowledge of data privacy practices and laws Understanding of HIPAA regulations Knowledge of Salesforce, NetSuite, and UKG
