IRS Revenue Agent Virtual Hiring Event for the Gulf and South Atlantic

The IRS is hiring accounting professionals, and we are hosting a VIRTUAL hiring event for our entry-to-mid career level Revenue Agent positions in the following 8 locations in the Gulf and South Atlantic Regions:
• Arkansas: Little Rock
• Georgia: Gainesville, Macon
• Louisiana: Lafayette
• North Carolina: Asheville
• Oklahoma: Oklahoma City, Tulsa
• Texas: Austin
During the event, you’ll learn about the day-to-day job duties, requirements needed to qualify, how to write an effective federal resume, and all attendees will receive an exclusive announcement link to apply to for expedited consideration.
We are fast-tracking our hiring process for these positions in these locations. If you follow the steps below, you should receive a tentative job offer within 10 days of the event!

Registration/Application Steps
1. Register to attend virtual information session. Click on the Get Tickets link above to register and receive the ZoomGov meeting link.
2. Attend virtual event on September 26th. Learn about the position’s duties and requirements to qualify. Following our presentation, we will provide all attendees with an exclusive job announcement link to apply to and receive consideration. You must attend.
3. Apply to the exclusive Gulf and South Atlantic-only Revenue Agent Announcement. Apply to the announcement by 11:59 PM ET Sunday, September 29th using the link that will be provided to all attendees during the event. This is a required step.
Once we have received your resume, we will pre-qualify you for the highest grade possible based on the experience listed on your resume. If qualified, you will be sent a link to schedule a virtual interview the following week. If selected following your interview, we will send a tentative job offer within a few days following the interview. All that apply to the exclusive announcement link will receive a notice of results.
Note: Failure to provide sufficient evidence of your experience in your resume may result in a “not qualified” or lower graded determination.
About the Revenue Agent position:
As a Revenue Agent, you will use your skills in accounting to plan and conduct examinations or make determinations on various federal tax matters. These examinations may be performed in the field or in a centralized office setting, working with taxpayers, their representatives, certified public accountants, and tax attorneys. Your duties will vary based on the area you are assigned and will cover a broad range of tax and business issues. Our Revenue Agent positions focus on specific tax matters for individuals, and small, large and international businesses. You will be working to help fund the Nation!
All Revenue Agent candidates must meet the following basic requirement. You must have a:
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certificate, or
• Bachelor’s or higher degree in accounting, or
• Bachelor’s or higher degree in another field other than accounting or a combination of education and experience that included at least 30 semester hours in accounting or 24 semester hours in accounting and 6 semester hours in a related subject.
Additionally, specialized accounting-related experience may qualify you for a higher graded position.
