On the Menu: Optimize Your LinkedIn Profile

LinkedIn is a powerful career marketing and networking tool – if you know what you’re doing. Don’t let your outdated profile stand in your way of using it! This session will teach you how to optimize your LinkedIn profile in a way you’ll feel proud of, giving your career experience the attention it deserves. We will learn:

• How to write an aspirational headline and create a banner photo to catch attention and get people to connect
• The top 5 relationship-enhancing things to include in your “About” section without sounding salesy or weird
• Ways to use the Featured section that you’re not thinking of!
• How to make the most of each of your professional experiences, and skills, & endorsements
• What to include in your education section, beyond traditional education
• How to up your game with social proof (aka: LinkedIn recommendations)

In an effort to keep this event accessible, we will be offering a hybrid experience for participants. When checking out, be mindful to select between an “In-Person Ticket” and a “Zoom Ticket”. For those attending in person, we will be providing a safe, sanitized space. For those not located in NC or remaining cautious, we welcome you to join us over zoom.

Our Session Leader

Lindsey Lathrop (she/her) is an ICF-certified coach, gender equity consultant, entrepreneur, and top 100 global #IamRemarkable Google facilitator. Lindsey’s coaching helps women and underrepresented groups to build negotiation and self-promotion skills in the workplace and beyond. Her passion for equity and inclusion led her to co-found a consultancy to engage business leaders to explore their biases and shape inclusive and engaging workplace cultures. When she’s not working, she’s volunteering with Women Build and Dress for Success, gardening, and getting pulled along on trails in Durham, NC by her Aussiedoodle.

What’s On The Menu?

At Frontier RTP, we are constantly growing, and hope you will come along for the ride! We developed On the Menu as a way of helping you and your business grow to the next level, whatever that next level may be.

Each month, we offer a lunchtime workshop on a special topic related to small businesses or startups. On the Menu is taught by a diverse group of experts from around the Triangle (some of whom started their business here at Frontier RTP!) in a small group setting.

Our hope is that these workshops will not only be rich in content, but spark dialogue, start relationships, and make your lunch break meaningful. Did we mention there will be food? For those joining us in-person, there will be a free lunch available. If you are joining us virtually, we invite you to bring your lunch to the Zoom. No shame in eating with your camera on!
