SUMMARY:Neurodivergence isn't a Mental Health Problem
DESCRIPTION:For too many years\, neurodivergence has gone hand in hand with ideas of deficit and disadvantage\, particularly when it comes to mental health. It is true that many neurodivergent people do have co-occurring mental health problems. However\, these may be caused by the factors that often exist alongside neurodivergence – such as stigma\, lack of acceptance\, lack of accommodation\, meeting societal expectations and so on. \nPlease join us for this discussion about neurodivergence and mental health\, during which we will explore: \n\n\nThe causes of mental health problems in neurodivergent people \n\n\nHow we – as individuals and collectively – can support mental wellbeing \n\n\nWhat a mentally healthy world might look like for neurodivergent people \n\n\nYou’ll learn more about mental health issues in neurodivergence as well as creating some hopeful goals to promote emotional wellbeing. \nThis is a free online event via Zoom.

SUMMARY:Support Systems: Integrating Job Coaches and Supported Employment Into Talent Strategies
DESCRIPTION:Supported Employment is a systematic process of achieving competitive\, integrated employment outcomes for individuals with significant disabilities through long-term supports – often including the engagement of a job coach. While more than half (51%) of the 485 companies that completed the 2023 Disability Equality Index indicated that they have employees with significant disabilities who use Supported Employment\, the concept remains widely misunderstood and under-utilized in talent strategies. This webinar will more fully define Supported Employment and job coaching while also spotlighting companies that have made Supported Employment a successful component of their talent acquisition and development strategies.
